Random things....

So the other night Steve made dinner and I am beginning to think he is a better cook than I am. Actually - I have thought that for a while now - ever since his meatloaf kicked my meatloafs ass.

It was Tuesday and Taco night...but I came home with burrito wraps. Steve was convinced he couldn't stuff burritos with whatever he was going to put in the tacos - I did not understand. He went on the computer and found a recipe for mole sauce - from scratch - I had put out taco seasoning for the meat and a can of enchilada sauce cus that's how I roll, ya know. That wasn't good enough for Steve O. The next thing I knew there were pots flying and the mixer was running - knives were wielding - I just sat on the sofa and stayed of the way. His culinary fury resulted in a very tasty dinner.
It looked like this:

We ate it for a few meals.

I realized, although I mention Steve O. a lot - some of my friends have not gotten the chance to get to know him very well yet - he is often playing a gig while I am seeing a show or out elsewhere with my friends. Here is a list (stolen from his Facebook) of 25 Random things about Steve O.

1.) Perhaps my biggest pet peeve is when people are driving a truck down the road with junk in the back that is not properly tied down.

2) Although I'm not a big fan of "Christian Music", I think that "The Lord's Prayer" might be the most beautiful song ever written (especially when played by my mom).

3) I can make a pretty damn good mole sauce (it's not that hard)

4) There are no shortcuts in life. Talent doesn't mean a thing. It all comes down to how hard you are willing to work.

5) I have more experience judging things than I ever thought I would. A talent competition at VCU, a fake orgasm contest with the 9:55 club, and last, but not least,a beauty pageant in Keysville, VA (don't ask me how, unless you've got a good half an hour).

6) I've always dreamed of being on the Letterman show the same night as Tony Danza, so I could introduce myself to him in the green room, ask him to hug me, and then sing quietly into his ear: "Hold me closer, Tony Danza"

7) As a child, I always wanted to be Native American (pre white man)

8) It is very hard to find someone that truly loves you, and that you truly love, and I am very lucky to have that. (Thanks J.B.!)

9) The older I get, the more I realize what an amazing family I have, and how lucky I am that my parents are still together, and love each other very much.

10) It boggles my mind how Adam Sandler keeps making these terrible movies, and people keep paying to see them.

11) I am very competitive, and not a good loser. I am already anticipating a comeback for this one: "Don't sell yourself short, Steve, you're a tremendous loser."

12) I think if I set my mind to it, I could be a great tap dancer or clogger. Fortunately, I do not have such an urge.

13) As a child, I enjoyed ripping old shirts off my chest (usually with my friend Les), and pretending I was The Incredible Hulk.

14) Not a big fan of sweaters

15) The movie "Yellowbeard" has got to be one of my favorite comedies. Largely overlooked, but it is hilarious. It's got most of Monty Python, great Mel Brooks people like Madeleine Kahn and Marty Boyle, and on top of that, Cheech AND Chong. How can you got wrong with that?

16) I wish I could walk around in public with a bathrobe and baseball hat, like Ron Howard's animated self on The Simpsons.

17) I don't like *69. Ruins the ancient art of the prank call.

18) I enjoy watching reruns of "The Golden Girls" with my fiancee. It's true.

19) One day, I plan to learn a new language. Maybe some sort of Chinese or Native American language (if I could ever get the chance). Or maybe something more practical first like Spanish.

20) I would have no problem if we did like the Israelis, and had everyone perform two years of civic service after graduation. Not a bad idea.

21) I have some great friends. People I can have a good time with, play music with, or talk to about whatever crazy thing.

22) I am big fan of the absurd (if you couldn't already tell). Like Monty Python, The Marx Brothers, Mr. Show, or Steve Martin's early career.

23) I have learned this list is harder than I thought.

24) I am sad I never got to see New Orleans pre Katrina

25) People seem to find it amazing that so many of my friends I knew in high school, and that they can drink so much. Done!!!

That's a little look into the soul of Steve.

I will be back soon because I finally found the little white cordy-thing that downloads the pictures off my camera!
