Steve doesn't often leave town for gigs but last weekend his comedy band, Dick Butt Kiss and the Tight Ends, landed a gig in Harrisburg, PA. I hear the gig went well with only a handful of people leaving early and offended. On the way back the guys stayed over in Cross Junction, in a cabin built by Steve's Great Grandfather. I find it hard to believe they all stayed there overnight and the place is still standing - anyway - I will get to the point of my story. Steve's Dad sent him home with a very large container of apple butter. He knew it would take us forever to eat it in its raw form and as soon as he got home he was on line looking for recipes to use it in. He found a recipe for apple butter bread and got to work. The result was delicious and moist -even though the picture of it is not great. And as you can see, the loaf is almost gone. Thanks Steve O.!

That looks great! Steve O is quite the baker. Please tell him I got his message and that it's not too suspicious of me to question his intentions when he asks such questions. I still love him despite the fact that he is a Redskins fan!
Hi AK! I will ask him but I know he googled recipes with apple butter and it included flour, baking soda, egg, brown sugar and a little water. Hope you are great - I am loving your blog and it is so great to see what you guys are up to.
