My Adventure at Stage 1

Stage 1 is Richmond's newest Theatre company and I am so excited to attend their Gala Fundraising event. You can read all about it on their website. I suggest everyone get tickets to this event as well as buying a Season Subscription to support this great new company.

RAGTIME IN CONCERT will star Jerold E. Solomon, currently appearing on Broadway in the Tony®-Winning South Pacific, as Coalhouse Walker, Jr., Desiree Roots Centeio, renowned theatre and jazz vocalist, as Sarah and Richmond Musical Theatre headliners Debra Wagoner as Mother and Richard Koch as Tateh. Joining these headliners will be Richmond stars Robyn O'Neill, Jan Guarino, Michael Hawke, Christopher M. Stewart, Brett Ambler, Tom McGranahan, Mark Persinger, James E. Opher, Eric Pastore and Lillie Izo. The concert staging will boast a full orchestra and an ensemble of over 50 voices led by Musical Director Sherri A. Matthews and Director Chase Kniffen

On Wednesday my BFF and I headed down to check out the new space and to help out with some voice over work. The space looks great. I love a black box theatre and have truly missed Theatre Gym. This looks like it has all the intimacy of that space plus the stage is much bigger without being too big. You know?
Plus Chase Kniffen is the Artistic Director - he is so talented and posses all he needs to make this theatre the place to be in Richmond. Thank you Chase for giving us all another theatre space to entertain and be entertained. I look forward to Stage 1 sticking around a long time!
